Paint Detroit with Generosity

One of our 2022 Matching Grant Initiative Awardees is Detroit Mint Artists Guild awarded a $500 Matching Grant.

1. Mission: The organizational mission is to address poverty and inequality and open doors of opportunity to all youth. (It is really amazing how your program prepares students in the arts, academics (research), and production.

2. Goal: Their programs address three areas of need:

• Youth development

• Entrepreneurship

• Community service & collaboration.

In 2021, Detroit Mint Artists Guild exhibited at the Detroit Historical Museum and in 2022, they are exhibiting at the Michigan State University Detroit Center. 65 nonprofits have received or are going to be gifted almost 150 original paintings created by Detroit youth as part of their summer jobs with Mint.

Thank you, Detroit Chapter for collaborating with The Mint Artist Guild (MAG) of Detroit, Inc. Paint Detroit with Generosity to impact students learning through visual arts - and exposing young people to the art of ownership and improving students' abilities to not only reason, and hypothesize, but describe and discuss the paintings through a contextualized framework that expands their understanding of the world.
